Glitchoku is an offline Sudoku game. We respect your privacy and aim to collect as little data as possible.

Data we collect

Glitchoku does not collect, store, or share personal information.

App data stored on your device

To make the game work, Glitchoku stores data locally on your device, such as:

  • Game progress and saved puzzles
  • Scores and streaks
  • Settings (e.g., theme or contrast)
  • The player name you choose

This data stays on your device, unless you choose to share a challenge (see below).

Sharing a challenge

If you share a run or a challenge result, Glitchoku makes an image of your run report and a link, and hands them to the app you pick in Android's share menu, such as WhatsApp or Messenger. They contain the board's mode, difficulty and seed, your score, time, misses and how much of the board you filled, and the player name you chose in the game. They contain no account or device identifier. When you send a result back after a challenge, it also contains the name and figures of the person who challenged you, as their link carried them.

Nothing leaves your device unless you pick an app and send it. The app you share through handles the message under its own privacy policy.

When someone opens a challenge link, it opens Glitchoku directly, or a page on our website if the app is not installed. That page reads the run details in the link in the browser and we do not store them. The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may keep standard server logs such as IP addresses, as described in GitHub's privacy statement.

Network usage

Glitchoku does not require an internet connection to play. The app does not send data to our servers.

Third-party services

Glitchoku does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking services.

Children's privacy

Glitchoku is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
